The Johari Window is a tool for representing knowledge about ourselves. It divides our self-awareness into four parts, split by what is known and unknown to ourselves, and what is known and unknown to others.

What is known to ourselves and known to others is "public knowledge".

What is known to ourselves and unknown to others is "private knowledge".

What is unknown to ourselves and known to others are "blind spots".

What is unknown to ourselves and unknown to others is "unknowable".

Unsolicited feedback can sometimes reveal our blind spots. These rare moments can trigger a dramatic change.
