Culture mismatch is a common issue when trying to instil a company's culture. It is particularly common in startups; the desire for both casualness and high-performance creates conflict.

The mismatch occurs when the values and behaviours that are being modelled do not align with a company's stated values. This is especially true when exhibiting the latter is not rewarded.
