The job of the CHRO (Chief Human Resources Officer) is defined solely internal to the company by the CEO. Contrast this with the CFO, whose job is partly defined by parties outside the business — the investment community, auditors, and regulators.

This provides a large opportunity for the CEO to partner with HR.
