#1f1: How written word leads people to misguidedly believe something is true.
Written documentation fosters shared meaning. So does giving something a name. But this can lead people to misguidedly accept that some things are true and unchangeable.
For example, a persona created by a product company to represent a type of customer has a name, description, and sometimes even a face. But that doesn't mean it is an accurate description of reality.
And consider strategy. A bad strategy does not become better on being written. Yet once written, the allure of the written word convinces its reader that the strategy is fixed — and worse, correct.
