Making it possible for people to work, getting a team to perform, and improving systems (through advancing organisational learning): these are key roles of a manager.

A leader's role is to align a group around a broader vision, help them internalise a strategy, and guide them to proactively do what's best for the broader group.

These roles of a leader are often overlooked by managers, who focus more on lower level concerns. Yet instilling this higher-level thinking are what truly matter in the long term.
