#8a2: Siloing, and the benefits of networks.

Siloing is defined by the level of cross-group communication. The higher the ratio of internal to external communication, the more siloed that group is. At the heart of siloing is communication, relationships, and networks — and both individuals and teams can benefit from expanding their network.

Growing a diverse, strong, and well-connected network improves an individual's ability to influence; this is key to leadership. The team to which a well-connected individual belongs benefits from the information, buy-in, and critical resources that a wide and diverse network can bring.
