As with writing, so with speaking — keep your sentences short and to the point. This is especially important when considering the context in which a lot of communication happens: meetings.

When you speak, there is a room full of people around you who are impatient for their turn. Be concise in your speech, and you will express more than most others in less time. If you have a point to make, make it, then stop. Don't labour the point.
