Reference #338: Thinking in Systems

A system that draws from renewable resources is flow-limited. It can extract from a resource indefinitely but only at a flow rate equal to or less than the resource's regeneration rate.

If a renewable resource is extracted from faster than it can regenerate, this resource may eventually be driven below a critical threshold and become non-renewable.
